These comical bubble fish are made near Xania so they are a genuine Cretan souvenir. The largest of the fish stands about 300mm high. To make them easier to carry they are in two halves, the fish and stand can then be packed separately.
The tall figures, below right, are called ‘Throsoulites’, they are the artists interpretation of an old Cretan legend concerning am army defeated in battle and drowned off the south coast of the island, if you want to know the full story you will have to come and see us!
Worried about the weight? Yes of course some of items are heavy! We recommend that all ceramics are taken as hand luggage. We can provide a packing and shipping service (please ask about prices), this is particularly useful for items which are just too big for hand luggage, and also for those who are island hopping!
