Yiannis Nanouris Ceramics
Born on the Aegean island of Naxos, Yiannis Nanouris studied at the Athens School of Fine Art.
Using a special clay mix from his home island, he produces a range of figures based on history and from his imagination, these are then hand painted and fired to look as though they are the works of Nature. So successful is the process that visitors often ask ‘What type of wood are they? Or ‘What type of stone are they?’
Nanouris also combines his ceramic work with natural material such stone and wood to produce collages which are then framed with antique wood. These pieces are signed and supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Nanouris now lives and works in Athens where he also produces many drawings using pen and ink.
